Micromax brought a “tufan” in the Indian mobile market when it announced its partnership with the famous Os maker Cynogen to produce and offer the Indian market a budget phone with a lot of fascinating features. It has been noticed that micromax has taken two different strategy: It competes with the GALAXY phones with its Canvas series. At the same time, it's taking on Xiaomi with the newly unveiled brand YU.

Like most budget android phones the Yureka won’t give you the premium feel look wise, but on the brighter side the phone build is indeed “Mazbut”. The phone has a 5.5 inch screen which is indeed quite big for one hand use. Going with a 5 inch screen would have been a much better option. It is powered by a 64 bit processor which is surprisingly fast and good for such a budgeted phone. It houses a 2GB of Ram which runs high end games without any lag what so ever. It has dual sim and supports 4G even.

The phone has cynogenmod 11 on it which is ideal for power user and not for the “aam admi” as it tends to be complex and “befizul” for them. Considering its price tag, the user experience is quite good. The phones camera is a mixed bag, despite having a 13MP shooter at the back the image quality isn’t upto the mark as expected. However, the camera pulls good images in low light at times. Taking a look at some of the basic feature of the little beast:

Details
Remark
Screen
5.5 inch Lcd
Low ppi for such large screen.

Updates to 5.0.2, but has few lags after that.
Camera
13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front

Battery
Li-Po 2500mAh battery
Lasts around a day.
Connectivity

The major Usp of the device to offer such feature at such a price.

As we know there is nothing called MUFT KA KHANA in this world, hence we can say that at such a low price as quoted for first YU series phone Rs. 8999 with so many features is sort of flattering the phone. As it doesn’t really come its way out to provide facilities so offered. An analysis of various users, brings us to the following:

Pros:
·The Octa core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM provides, very good performance.
·The highly customisable skin and timely updates are the features of Cyanogenmod custom ROMS.
·The 4G connectivity feature on a budget device is a good to have feature.
·The outdoor performance of the rear camera is really good.
·The device provides great value for money.

Cons:
        · Average Battery Life.
        · Display is not sharp enough.
        · Getting the Yu Yureka is
          difficult because of the
          marketing   strategy.
        ·  Post sales Service
        ·  Call Dropping.
        ·  Low Speaker Volume.
Some of users are not very happy for what they have paid for. Still some have an absolute liking about the phone, its features and facilities. If we want our phone to be our “Sacha Dost”, Yureka doesn’t seem to be one.

Final verdict:
Priced at Rs. 8999/- the YU Yureka is probably the only sub-10k handset to pack in such a powerful processor. The screen is not very sharp, but even its closest competitor the Xiaomi Redmi Note has a similar display. All in all, if you are looking for a powerful Android "phablet" under Rs 10,000, go for the Yureka. However, after the recent update people have faced some minor issues with the phone. So you may even even consider one of its major competitor Xiaomi Redmi Note.
