In many ways, 2014 has been the year that has given Xiaomi “Daulat, Shauhrat aur kamyabi” it has evolved from being one of the largest chienese maker to being a global brand. The company had been seen as a very competitive player with its range of devices with amazingly low prices. So in many ways it was apt that one of the first press releases of 2015 in India came from the company was stating that it would launch its note series in the market, the Note 4G. The phone was sold out in six seconds on flipkart when it went on sale!!! “bhhhoommm gayab”

As the previous edition, the front is dominated by 5.5 inch display while the back is made out of plastic, but as said “don’t judge a book by its cover" so is the case with Note 4G. It is not a small device at all and not the thinnest either, but it has a reassuringly solid feel to it, however it is light than the pervious one.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G features a 720p IPS display which delivers accurate colors unlike Yureka’s screen which has an overall bluish tone. It is also bright enough to offer good visibility in direct sunlight. Expecting a “dhamakedar” camera from a sub 10K phone is not the right thing but Redmi’s 13MP rear shooter does a decent job. The 5MP front camera also performs well for selfies and video calling.

The phone is not a looker in terms of design as plastic is heavily used in its construction. It is a big phone and handling it with one hand is not an easy task. Moreover, the slippery back makes it even tougher. Taking a look at some of the pros and cons of the Mi4:

Pros:
•  Smooth performance.
•  Decent camera.
•  Battery life.
•  4G compatibility.
Cons:
•  Bulky design.
•  Only 8GB internal memory.
•  Miui still crashes at times.
•  Plastic construction.

Final verdict:
Priced at Rs. 8999/- Redmi Note 4G is a great performer in sub 10K category with the power and specifications it offers. However, Micromax’s Yureka steals the limelight this time with a lower price tag, Cyanogen OS and a better design.
