In December 2014 Micromax launche its sub brand the  “YU” its first offering the “Yureka” was a huge success and the brand gained a lot of attention and fame in a short interval of time. The “yu” series is micromax way of providing “Sasta and Sundar” phones to the Indian market. After the success it launched its second samrtphone the Yuphoria. The name as well as some of the features have been crowd sourced.  “janta ka phone”!!

The company has put an emphasis on the design aspect from the launch day itself that how the design is of much concern to them as well as the customer, as most of the budgeted phones lack in this area. The Yuphoria comes with a metal frame with round edges, the back has matte finish which provides superb grip. The phone has a 5- inch display that isn’t that great considering other screens in the competition. At the bottom of the display is the customizable android button, like any other phone that runs on cynogenmod.

Running the Yuphoria is as 64 bit 1.2 Ghz quad core processor and 2Gb of Ram. The phone offers shutter-free performance and so was the multi-tasking and net surfing experience. However the multi touch isn't that good as while typing quick you tend to miss some key strokes. The Indian market has very less tech enthusiast, who actually use the customizations feature offered by the Cynogen, but those who do this budget phone is a great “Taufa”.

The yuphoria comes with an 8Mp auto focus camera, the camera takes good images in properly lit conditions but the im ages weren’t up to the mark in case of low lit conditions. The camera app on the Yuphoria is similar to its “older brother” the Yureka and offers a bunch of features. The front camera has wider angle and takes great pictures.

Taking a look at some of the basic features of the yuphoria:

Features
Details
Remarks
Screen
5  inch IPS touchscreen.
At just 294 ppi for a 5 inch screen the display isn’t that good.
Os
Android 5.0.2
Cynogen 12
The Phone has 2 Gb ram & performance is quite good.
Camera
08Mp back and 5Mp front
The image quality is not good in low light, the front camera takes great images though.
Battery
2230 mAh
The battery isn’t that good for such screen size and processor. Lasts 3/4th of the day.
Connectivity
4G LTE, Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, Nfc.
Its is pack with all coneectivity features and it’s the major USP.

From the time of launch till date the major attraction of the phone has been its “raaes look”, the only phone to offer metal at this price range. When people see and affordable phone they want to get the most out of it but by offering such “dhaasu” features it has to compromise somewhere and there comes the battery, which isn’t upto the mark. Taking a look at some of the pros and cons of the Yuphoria:

Pros:
•  Quality design.
•  Aggressive pricing.
•  CynogenMod
Cons:
•  Average Battery.
•  Unstable Os.

Final verdict:
The Yuphoria is a great phone to have it is not that it’s a perfect device. It comes with its own problems. At Rs. 6999/- it’s one of the most affordable phone and the metal offering gives it an edge over the other competitor the Redmi 2 and other android phones.
